Capital City Comic Con is pleased to name Christy Hans as the recipient of the second annual Capital City Comic Con Original Art Scholarship in Comic Studies.

ChristyHeadShotChristy Hans is working towards her BFA at Michigan State University with a minor in comic book illustration. She has a long history in independent comics, having been published in anthologies like Comics Obscure. Christy is also the writer for the web comic Orc Quest. Her other artistic endeavors include ceramics, pottery, and water color painting. When she is not drawing or covered in clay, she enjoys playing video games, weaving, or knitting.

As part of the scholarship, Christy has created the Official Artwork for the 2017 Capital City Comic Con. We are very proud to unveil her work below:

2017 Official Art

Capital City Comic Con established the scholarship to encourage the study of comic art and is currently offered exclusively to current students at Michigan State University.

Christy’s art will be featured at the 2017 Capital City Comic Con on Saturday, August 26 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. where she will have an artist space. Christy will also officially be recognized as Original Art Scholarship in Comic Studies recipient during a presentation on the Main Stage.
